Championing the dignity, welfare and leadership of Oro women — from the homesteads of the five LGAs to the global diaspora.
The Oron Union Women's Wing is the official women's arm of the Oron Union, dedicated to advocating for the rights, welfare and development of Oro women across all five LGAs and the diaspora. The Wing was established to ensure that the voices of Oro women — as mothers, professionals, custodians of culture and community leaders — are fully represented within the Union's decision-making structures.
The Women's Wing runs programmes in maternal health, education support for girls, economic empowerment initiatives, cultural preservation and civic engagement. It maintains active branches in all five LGAs as well as domestic and international chapters for women in the diaspora.
Women's Wing elections are conducted every two years through the Union's secure digital voting platform. All registered, dues-paying female members of the Oron Union are eligible to vote and contest for positions.
The executive committee of the Women's Wing serves a two-year term.
The Women's Wing maintains active branches in all five LGAs and operates chapters for Oro women in Nigeria's major cities and across the global diaspora.
