The Oro Student Union (OSU) is the student arm of the Oron Union, connecting Oro sons and daughters studying at universities, polytechnics and colleges across Nigeria and in the diaspora. The OSU was established to foster unity among Oro students, promote academic excellence, preserve cultural identity and build a pipeline of well-prepared young leaders for the Union and the nation.
Through its university and polytechnic chapters, the OSU organises orientation programmes for new Oro students, cultural nights, academic mentorship, scholarships advocacy and community service initiatives. It maintains a close relationship with the Oron Union Youth Wing, which many OSU members transition into after graduation.
OSU national executive elections are held annually during the Student Union Congress. Chapter executives are elected at their respective institutions at the start of each academic session.
This national executive coordinates all Oro Student Union chapters for the current academic session.
The Oro Student Union operates chapters at universities, polytechnics and colleges across Nigeria and in the diaspora. Each chapter elects its own executives at the start of every academic session.
Both national OSU elections and individual chapter elections are conducted through the Oron Union's secure digital voting platform. All registered student members with a valid matriculation or student ID are eligible to vote and stand for office within their chapter.
